Next Meeting:
Hi All,
The Riverina Arabians AGM and End of Year Do will be on Saturday the 1st December at the Wagga Wagga Winery. It seems EI is not going to settle down so we will hold them together. The AGM will be at 11.00am in order to get it and any business out of the way before lunch. Please keep an eye on the website and yahoo list for any last minute changes. As always, spouses and offspring are welcome. The Winery puts on a good feed for two for around the $50 mark, so it is good value.
Equine Influenza decontamination protocols are required to be observed. EI is spreading south and east in our region and we do not wish any Riverina Members to become carriers. Please make sure you turn up in your clean boots and duds. I will have some trusty Glen-20 for your clothes, Pine-O'Clean for your shoes, and my box of Pine-O-Clean soaked baby wipes but it would be greatly appreciated if you could make sure you and your car are decontaminated before you leave home. I know none of our Members currently have EI but it seems EI is definitely a case of better to be safe than very sorry.
A newsletter is currently being prepared for Members with the Minutes of the Temora DPI Meeting.
Regards,
Glen
President
Remember, Riverina is about people who love both purebred AND derivative Arabians, you do not need to own a purebred to become a Member.
Upcoming Events
Equine Dental School
Glen and Nicole are seeking expressions of interest in attending an Equine Dental School. Our horse dentist will be delighted to teach Members and their guests the basics of dentition, a possible venue Illabo Recreation Ground or Bidgee Pony Club, so if you would like to attend please contact Glen or Nicole, we need about 8 people to make a course a go-er. Horse places will be limited, with Member's horses having priority, fence sitters will be most welcome.

Riverina A Class Show 2008
Riverina did NOT hold an A Class show in 2005 & 2006 and will not be holding a show in 2007 due to lack of Member interest. At some point we must make a decision on whether any given event benefits the majority of the Membership. At this time, an A Class Show benefits less than 1/4 of our currently financial Membership.
The last 4 shows have been organised and mostly run by people who do not, or very rarely show. These are people who, out of the goodness of their hearts, have come forward so that the show can continue. Unfortunately, after many years of coming forward, the willingness of our workers has waned. They have indicated that they will not work at another show and would appreciate an event or two they can enjoy, such as schools and seminars.
HOWEVER, should we get enough people willing to come forward and organise and run a show, we would carefully consider holding another show. So far, only 3 people have come forward. Their offer is GREATLY valued and appreciated, but 3 are not enough. Advising the Secretary or President you will only join if we hold a show is not good enough.
If you would like to have a Riverina 2008,
please contact the Secretary or President to join up and offer your services to assist in running the next Show. Events can not run without workers willing to work for events which they wish to attend. It is possible to schedule your work around your classes - many of the Committee have done so for years.
